I have long been keen on art and in recent years I have taken up painting again with renewed energy and determination to develop as an artist.

Although largely self-taught, I have, over the years, attended evening classes at Edinburgh College of Art and I am now a member of Uddingston Art Club.

I initially painted in watercolour, and still do on a regular basis, but I also enjoy working in acrylic because it provides more scope for achieving the effect of strong light and shadow that has always attracted me. I have also recently experimented with oil painting and am keen to develop that further.

Preferring not to be confined to any particular subject matter, I paint from a wide range of subjects, often drawn from my own photographs of whatever strikes me as an appealing image or idea.

I have undertaken a number of commissions and exhibited and sold work at various charity exhibitions. I am always happy to take on further commissions and anyone interested should contact me via the online Contact Form on this website.
